Which will eventually lead us to start accepting the failures and incompletions as a normal entity of our lives making our life more miserable, and a graveyard of dreams.

“Only put off until tomorrow what you are willing to die having left undone.” —Pablo Picasso
1) Get up from that bed
You set an alarm in the night, and it begins buzzing, trying to wake you up in the morning. but when it begins trying to wake you up, you will hit on snooze button or switch it off, going back to sleep again. In the end, only to spend rest of your day with regrets.
The first 2 to 3 hours of the morning are the most productive and best hours of the day. In order to function effectively whole day, you have to take advantage of it and make a better use of it. According to many studies. 6 hours of sleep is enough, to function throughout the day normally and effectively.
Once your alarm goes off, get off that bed no matter how hard it might seem. Imagine yourself as a rocket, begin the countdown, and launch from your bed. Your subconscious mind wants to get everything, that is better for you. Also as sleeping for a long time is already a habit for you, even if you wake up but still sit on your bed, you will have many conversations in your head, during which your mind says, why you shouldn’t do this. Eventually, convincing you to go back to sleep. To avoid this, once the alarm goes off, get off the bed and do something. It might be walking, drinking a glass of water or anything. Just for few minutes, until your mind gets adjusted to it. And after few minutes of your discomfort and pain, you can start conquering the goals you want.
2) Maintain a journal
The best way to keep track of your progress, and keep yourself accountable is maintaining a Journal. Write down everything you did in the day that would add up to journey towards your goals before you go to bed. Also ask yourself few very valid question like, how this could have been done better? and how much more effective were you than yesterday? These questions help you to be aligned with your goals and also develops a habit which will make you look forward to the next day.
3) Plan your next day in advance, before you go to the bed.
All the highly successful people plan their next day before they go to their bed. This routine will not only help in preparing for your next day in the better way but also gives you the clarity on what needs to be done? what are the priorities? and how you can control them?
Planning your next day priorly gives you an advantage over others and also makes you help you in using your time much more effectively.
4) Exercise and eat healthy
In order to sprint towards your goals, you have to make sure you are keeping yourself well, both physically and mentally. To achieve this, you have to keep yourself physically active regularly. You can go for a run or hit the gym that option is left for you. Exercising will not only helps you in being fit but also helps you in maintaining a better mental state and posture. The people who are adjusted and aligned with the present lifestyle, sit throughout their day at work, without any physical activities. This not only decreases the average life expectancy but also creates many adverse effects on overall health in a long run.
Like many people have said before, you are what you eat. The food you choose to eat will also play a pivotal role in deciding how effectively you function throughout your day. As it is also going to affect your status of health and mind directly, choose what you eat consciously and it will help you in maintaining the shape of your mind and body. Which in turn helps in creating a better you.
5) prioritize your tasks
Plan your day before you begin with it. Most of the time, you have to pick up the toughest and bigger tasks first and finish it off. By doing so, you can ease the clutter and anxiety that fills in your day eventually. And you can easily finish off the smaller tasks gradually, without much stress involved.
Like Stephen R Covey explains, if you fill your container only with only small first, you cannot fill it with bigger stones later. But if you fill your container with the bigger stones first, the small stones will easily slide down, and settle in the spaces between the bigger stones.
6) Divide your whole year into quarters and keep someone accountable for it.
You can’t eat an elephant at once. In the same way, if you have a bigger goal, you cannot accomplish it overnight. You have to divide it into smaller goals and you have to set timelines for each. Your goals must be measurable, feasible and time bound.
Divide your goals into smaller goals and set time for yourself to accomplish it. Set quarterly goals and write down where you wish to see yourself, at the end of the first quarter, the second, the third and the fourth. Let someone close to you know about it. Reflect on your present state every month and come up with new ways, in order to align yourself and achieve what you want, by the time frame you have set for yourself.
7) Read books. A lot of it.
There is no better friend or a companion than a book. If you Go through the interviews of any great achievers, who have achieved the unthinkable. The richest and the highly successful people across the world. They all have one thing in common. They read a lot of books.
Books help you to see the world, from the perspective of the people, who have already seen it in their own way and have become successful. You can slow down time and save many years of your life, just by reading the right books at the right time and learning from them. Many great mentors of the world, doesn’t exist anymore. But books provide the portals to their life and watching the world through their experiences and eyes, is nothing less than a magic or a blessing. That is why they call a book always as a portal of magic.
People often complain about not having enough time to read. But if you properly observe and monitor your day. In the time that you spend on watching television, going through the Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter feeds, you can easily take out at least an hour for reading. Instead of opening your social network profiles, open a book. Even if it is for just 10 minutes, it is going to make a difference. Reading right books will help you in planning your goals and your life in better ways, that you didn’t even think of before.

8) Learn to say No
The problem with most of us is the difficulty we face in saying no to someone when we have to say it. Many times this will make us lead the life, that we hate and make us regret and feel miserable every single day. In the end, we end up doing a crappy work as we hate it. And we also cheat ourselves by doing so.
Above everything and above everyone, the only person you have to care the most about is you. You are the person with whom you are going to spend all your day and all your life. Even if you feel, that saying no to the person opposite to you might hurt them, learn to say NO when you know it is not right, and you are going to regret it in your future.
Saying No will not only save you from living the life that you hate. But also make sure you succeed in many things that you want to accomplish in your life. Every moment in your life, you will stand to face towards many doors, while making important decisions. Saying No is the only way to choose the right door and reach the place you want to reach.
9) Spend some time with yourself
We all are so busy with our lives. we don’t have time for ourselves anymore. Learn to spend some time with yourself amidst of all the chaos you are going through. Practice a discipline of solitude.
Choose a calm place and spend time with yourself, at least for 15 minutes in a day, reflecting your thoughts and reaching your heart. Don’t try to strap your mind or control it. Let it wander until it calms down and comes back to you. In the beginning, you might not like how you feel about it. But eventually, you will start hearing what your heart really wants to say to you.
Great men are like eagles, and build their nest on some lofty solitude. —Arthur Schopenhauer
10) Give back to the world and learn to thank for the things you have.
Start believing in the good that resides in the world. Start giving back to the world from which you have got so much. There will always be something, that you can help someone with. Like a quote says
“Life gives to the givers, and take from the takers”
Be thankful for what you have. Express your gratitude and practice positive affirmations every day. When you are happy with the gifts that you have already got. and thank for it from all your heart, the universe will bring more of it to you. The more you think about something, the more of it you attract, no matter what it is. Whether it’s the misery or the happiness in both the cases, this is always true.
11) Believe in yourself
Above all the things that I have mentioned above. Believe in yourself, you cannot do any of the above without trusting yourself. There will always be someone who says that whatever you are doing, is not going to take you anywhere. People who have never seen an ocean in their life will try to explain to you how being in the middle of the sea storm feels like. Don’t listen to them, go ahead and do what your heart shouts.
Believe in yourself! Have faith in your abilities! Without a humble but reasonable confidence in your own powers, you cannot be successful or happy. —Norman Vincent Peale
